Assoufid lies on the Route de Guemassa at kilometre 10, south-west of Marrakesh at the foot of the High Atlas. The medina is around ten kilometres away and Marrakesh Menara airport lies between resort and city. The site is surrounded by open semi-desert with palms and olive trees.

Golf & development

The golf course

Assoufid lies around ten kilometres south of the Marrakesh medina, against the backdrop of the High Atlas. At its core is an 18-hole championship course by Scottish architect Niall Cameron, opened in 2014: par 72, 6,440 metres, laid out desert-style across undulating terrain with dry beds and sandy areas. Only about 45 per cent of the site was planted, the rest left in its natural state — a deliberate approach to water use.

Outlook

Clubhouse and awards

The clubhouse holds a pro shop, changing rooms, a members' lounge and the restaurant La Colline with terrace and Atlas views, alongside a driving range, putting and chipping greens and a private pavilion for up to 15 guests. The course has repeatedly been named Africa's best by the World Golf Awards, most recently from 2021 to 2023.

The airport is practically on our doorstep: it’s just over ten minutes from the terminal to the golf resort, which lies to the south-west of the town.
