Overview

The resort at a glance

Soneva Fushi is a resort on the private island of Kunfunadhoo in the Maldivian Baa Atoll. It opened in 1995 and is regarded as the first luxury resort in the Maldives. Alongside the hotel operation, Soneva offers selected villas for purchase as private residences. Clavis International handled sales of those residences in the German-speaking market.

Kunfunadhoo lies in Baa Atoll, designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Arrival is by seaplane from Malé airport, a journey of around 30 minutes. The villas are spread across the island, set within the tree canopy or built out over the lagoon as overwater villas.

Stars above the atoll

As one of very few resorts worldwide, Soneva Fushi runs its own observatory with a resident astronomer. Above the near light-pollution-free Baa Atoll the night sky becomes an experience — guided sessions with a professional telescope.

Sustainability

Barefoot luxury, lived

At Soneva, sustainability is not a label but daily operation: the Glass Studio and Maker's Place turn recycled material into art, the Aquaterra project restores corals, and you move across the island on foot or by bike. Luxury that respects its resources.
