The resort lies on the island of Medhufaru in the Noonu Atoll in the north of the Maldives, surrounded by a large, sheltered lagoon. The seaplane from Malé takes around 40 minutes; alternatively a domestic flight to Maafaru is followed by a boat transfer.

Villas above the lagoon
Soneva Jani lies on the island of Medhufaru in the Noonu Atoll, set within a large, sheltered lagoon. The resort combines overwater and island villas, all of them with private pools. It became known for the water slides leading from the villa straight into the lagoon and the retractable roofs above the bedrooms.

Experiences and dining
Villas range from one to four bedrooms and from 446 to 1,796 square metres. The offering includes the Cinema Paradiso open-air cinema above the water, the Soneva Soul spa brand with overwater and island treatment areas, tennis and padel courts, a dive centre and numerous restaurants, among them Saji, Crab Shack and Director's Cut with teppanyaki and irori grills.

The way to the resort
From Malé, it takes 40 to 45 minutes by seaplane; alternatively, take a domestic flight to Maafaru followed by a 10-minute speedboat ride. Please arrive in Malé by 15:30 if possible; otherwise, the first seaplane flight will depart the following day. A non-stop flight from Frankfurt takes around 10 hours.
