The resort at a glance
Soneva Kiri opened in 2009 on the island of Koh Kood in the Gulf of Thailand and was the Soneva Group's second resort. Its villas sit directly on the beach, in the wooded hills or above the cliffs. Some of the houses were offered for purchase as private residences; Clavis International handled their sale in the German-speaking market. Since 1 June 2025 the property has traded as Kiri Private Reserve.
Koh Kood lies in Trat Province close to the Cambodian border and is one of Thailand's largest yet most sparsely populated islands. Access is by a roughly one-hour flight from Bangkok to the resort's own airstrip on the neighbouring island of Koh Mai Si, followed by a five-minute boat crossing. The villas are spread across the beach, hills and cliffs of the resort site.

Treepod dining in the canopy
The resort is defined by signature experiences such as treepod dining, where meals are delivered by zip line to a woven rattan structure in the canopy. Several restaurants and bars as well as The Den children's club round out the offering.
