Holiday properties as an investment

Holiday properties as an investment

The trend towards negative interest rates at German banks is prompting potential investors to explore new ways of investing their money profitably. These include, amongst other things, holiday properties. They offer a stable investment opportunity and, under the right conditions, can even generate a positive return on investment. Generating attractive returns – up to 5 per cent in Germany – by letting a holiday home is a clear advantage that is increasingly influencing the decision to buy a property.

A holiday home is particularly profitable when it can be let all year round. However, as tourism is still mainly seasonal, it is all the more important to create offerings that provide added value for owners and guests throughout the year. The region’s appeal and the property’s facilities are just as crucial as the quality of the location. An adequate infrastructure that is not dependent on the season – one that caters to guests’ day-to-day needs whilst also offering them a variety of leisure experiences – is the key to year-round occupancy.
